Education Committee

The majority of schools located in North Huntsville are currently “failing schools” with low test scores. Also, schools in North Huntsville lack a comparable curriculum to schools in South Huntsville. The students of North Huntsville need parental support and community involvement to bring our schools out of failing status.

Goals of the Committee:

  • Curriculum Considerations
  • Teacher Assignments
  • PTA Membership
  • HCS Board Attendance
  • Discipline Concerns

In order to meet the goals of the committee, we must have participation for parents, family members, community members and friends.

Family Fortification Committee

This exploratory committee will explore and develop strategies that will provide avenues of transformative communication, with the intentions of rebuilding, reclaiming and realigning the institution of family, as it relates to social, emotional, physical, economical and spiritual frameworks.

The goal is to develop a number of task forces to provide a culturally relevant, hands-on approach to actively engage the institution of family, and to seek the necessary resources to assist in its growth and development.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Galatians 6:9
